A vacancy has arisen within Regional Aircraft for a Senior Aerodynamics Engineer.
This role requires the candidate to provide aerodynamics support to the in-service fleet of Regional Jet and Turboprop aircraft types, along with involvement in special role tasks and other third party engineering projects.
Responsibilities will include:
Providing aerodynamic analysis and support for technical problems and designs.
Advising on aircraft flight procedures and providing aerodynamics support to system safety assessments.
Preparing flight test requirements for ground and flight test of aircraft performance and handling characteristics. Analysing the results to ensure the integrity of the aircraft and preparing Technical reports for certification.
Liaising and leading discussions with Airworthiness Authorities to ensure certification requirements are met and understood.
Assisting airlines in resolving aerodynamics related in-service problems.
Providing aerodynamics analysis and support to incident investigations.
Preparation and substantiation of information for aircraft flight manuals and operations manuals.
Supporting technical reviews/meetings, representing the function.
The candidate should be educated to first degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline and have a minimum of 5 years working in an aerospace environment, with at least 3 years experience in aircraft Aerodynamics.
The role requires a motivated and proactive individual with the ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively, as the candidate will be responsible for liaising with Operators, Airworthiness Authorities and Technical Staff at all levels.
Applicants should possess excellent interpersonal and team working skills together with the ability to establish effective internal and external customer relationships.
Previous supervisory experience would be advantageous.
Some UK travel may be required.
The candidate should be conversant with the Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint) and experience of working with a VAX mainframe would be an advantage.
Previous experience of CFD and other computational simulation methods is desirable.
Familiarity with the Regional Aircraft products would be an advantage.
