Principal Software Engineer

Principal Software Engineer required for market leaders of software to the worlds civil airlines and commercial operators. You will be working on a range of air-ground data integration solutions and services.
The product is based on a clustered N-tier architecture utilising an Oracle database. The software components (primarily MS Visual C ) operate under MS Windows 2000 and XP operating systems on commercial PC platforms. Future products are being directed toward the .Net framework.
Therefore the principal technology focus is on Object Orientated techniques, based of MS Visual C , C#, STL, MS COM, .Net and Windows 2000 and XP.
You will be required to provide innovative technical ideas and solutions to a given set of requirements and participating in technical proposal development. Candidates should have a sound understanding of the complete software lifecycle, and in particular, the ability to interpret requirements into software designs and implementations. You should have strong skills in software design and development with significant experience in the development of multi threaded C applications on Windows platforms and C# applications on .Net – including .Net remoting. Ideally you will have already gained 7 years experience in a software development role with sound experience of working within rigorous quality standards such as ISO9001 and CMM, be educated to degree level in and engineering discipline and possess good all round interpersonal and communication abilities. Any knowledge of avionics and data link would be an advantage although not essential.
