Avionics Systems Engineer - SATCOMS
Salary to £45K Benefits

A Systems Engineer with a strong SATCOM background is required to work in both rotary wing and fixed wing environments, specifying and designing SATCOM subsystems and integrating these subsystems into a variety of civil and potentially military airborne platforms.
Key tasks shall include requirements specification for SATCOM/Communication subsystems; preparation of technical statements of work and documentation; preparation of Acceptance Test Schedules (ATS); systems architecture development and system design and management of equipment supply subcontractors.
A background in electronics/avionics development with an understanding of the whole systems engineering lifecycle is required together with requirements capture tools such as DOORS. Detailed knowledge of aircraft Communication systems (SATCOM), knowledge of the Inmarsat Satellite System and service; knowledge of integration and certification of systems on civil airliners (AIRBUS/BOEING); knowledge of SATCOM protocols/ARINC 741, 761 and 781. Experience of interfacing with 3rd party organisations and liaising and communicating effectively at meetings with customers. Candidates should be qualified to HNC/D/Degree level and have 2 – 5 years experience in an avionics design or maintenance environment.
