MANUFACTURING ENGINEER PROCUREMENT
Working within the Assemblies Commodity Multi functional teams
Managing a small team of broad based Manufacturing Engineer(s)
• Resource planning, and recruitment
• Individual and team developement
• Budget management
• Support procurement in Sourcing and tendering or work transfer projects
o Producing bid packs
o Bid pack assessment
• Risk identification and Risk mitigation planning
• Supplier industrialisation
o Project planning
o Overseeing of supplier project objectives
o Technical support to industrialisation
• Supplier cost reduction
• Analysing and evaluation supplier methodology proposing alternative method of design / manufacture, with a view to exploit continuous improvements / new technology to meet cost down targets. Internally sponsoring opportunities, and business case preparation
• Challenging internal and external process with a view to business process improvements
• Use of IT and mainframe systems to produce technical reports and KPI’s as functional / business measures
• Support commercial negotiations
• Liaison across functional boundaries, both internally an external, prioritising and managing issues to completion. Typical interaction are as follows:-
o Design
o Commercial
o Finance
o Procurement
o Internal manufacture
o Tooling etc.
• National and international travel in support of the business goals.
• Compliance with AUK process and procedures to maintain CAA / EASSA compliance
• Compliance with functional procedures and processed
