PCB Layout / Design Engineer
A vacancy exists for a PCB layout / design engineer, experienced in multi layer board design, involving signal and power layouts.
a world leader in its field, specialising in advanced control systems for small electric vehicles used in industrial and medical applications. We are located on the south coast and a member of the Spirent plc group of companies.
Qualifications Required:
The candidate will ideally be qualified to HND level in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
Skills and Qualifications:
Skills in the following areas are required:
Creating schematics, to Company standards
Design of PCB's up to 4 layers, to Company standards
A good understanding of techniques for noise immunity and EMC compliance
Experience of fine pitch chip layout through to high current track design
Ability to work closely with hardware and mechanical engineers to provide cost effective and innovative solutions
Ability to work with suppliers to provide fast-turn around prototypes and high volume production boards
Skills in the following areas would also be beneficial:
Knowledge of circuit design in analogue, digital, micro-controller or power circuits
Ability to develop and maintain Company libraries for circuit and layout design
Experience of PROTEL Design Suite
Successful candidates will be self-motivated and work in small enthusiastic project teams. Excellent communication skills are essential.
Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience. Additional benefits, including profit related pay and 4 1/2 day week are commensurate with a modern progressive company that is part of a large international group.
