Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the commercial aspects of the contract, including the establishment of a sound contractual and costing basis to support the pricing of future vessels of the class and the realisation of opportunities for change proposals.
Including the following responsibilities:-
To conduct regular performance reviews and to recruit and develop staff commercial staff employed on the Project.
Maintenance of a configuration controlled version of the contract document, promptly incorporating amendments as they are agreed and providing briefings on and interpretation of the company s contractual commitments as required.
Management of commercial aspects of all change proposals including identification of opportunities for new business through change, maintaining records and metrics of work in process and bringing changes under contract at earliest possible dates.
Developing and maintaining the commercial input to the Astute risk and opportunities plan. Managing and retiring identified commercial risk.
Providing support to the Supply Chain function in the negotiation of supplier contracts and the resolution of disputes.
Develop or contribute (as appropriate) to the development of processes relating to activities with a commercial involvement.
Manage and develop the Astute commercial team to ensure that all functional responsibilities are discharged and that individuals have the opportunity, guidance and support to develop professionally.
Ensure that the requirements of the Operational Framework, in particular LCM and Tender Vet procedures, are observed in the performance of the above responsibilities.
Liaise with other Commercial Section Heads to ensure that a consistent and common approach is made to the Astute customer on Commercial issues.
Skills required Degree in Law 2/1, understanding/experience of MOD contracting.
