Manufacturing Engineer is required for this leading defence organisation. A new vacancy exists for a manufacturing engineer to support an increase in workload. The successful applicant will support the existing engineering team on various manufacturing programmes. Duties involve preparation of detailed work instructions for various manufacturing processes used across the site with associated risk assessments. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and the ability to integrate this knowledge in the design of efficient manufacturing systems is a distinct advantage. The post requires an understanding of tool and gauge design and the ability to apply appropriate statistical methods for quality assurance purposes. Educated to at least BTEC (HND/HNC) in a relevant engineering subject, with NEBOSH qualification desirable, the successful candidate must be capable of working as part of a multi discipline team and of managing their own workload on day-to-day basis. Knowledge of CNC machine tool programming and setting, safe hot working processing and practices, metal finishing processing, are all desirable requirements.
