Our client is looking for an intelligent and entrepreneurial advertising sales manager to join their fast-growing and high-tech mobile instant messaging, shopping and community venture. They are currently adding thousands of new users per day across the globe; building the company's brand and active mobile community of users. They are agreeing distribution deals with some of Europe's largest mobile companies which will see their software installed on millions of handsets. They have deals in place with global media companies to add compelling content to the company's user experience. Their product roadmap includes a raft of innovative services which they believe their user-base will find addictive.
The company is a well-backed venture with a good management team and the funds to execute on their global plan. The company's strategy is to build an international community of mobile users that log-in on a daily basis by providing an addictive experience which extends their online lives to their ever-present mobile phone. They monetise this community through advertising, subscription services and mobile commerce.
The opportunity is to be in the vanguard of advertising sales managers who drive the growth of mobile advertising and monetising a global mobile internet user-base. Through their initial deals they have determined there is a strong advertiser demand. Your job will be to deliver on the companies revenue targets with the Sales and Marketing Director.
The tasks of the Advertising Sales Manager will require you to:
- Create strategy to monetise client's global user-base in conjunction
- Define advertising sales proposition in target territories
- Define alternative monetisation strategies in non-core territories
- Hire and manage advertising sales agencies in target territories
- Deliver monthly revenue targets through mixture of advertising sales and other sales of the company's products
- Contribute to the product roadmap in conjunction with the software developers and other team members.
One of the key challenges is thinking global but acting local as you make the company's advertising and products relevant to users and clients in different countries. You also need to develop an understanding that what works online may not work on mobile and vice-versa. In the emerging mobile advertising market which is still determining “market rates” you will drive maximum returns from our advertising and product inventory.
In your past roles you will have worked in a B2C venture. Experience of the mobile world is NOT necessary. Mobile web is similar to fixed internet so demonstrable success with online ventures is equally valuable. Previous positions may have been in advertising sales at a first tier agency or a mobile operator portal or have been part of the sales team at a successful online high-growth venture. You will have been results-driven with a verifiable track-record in delivering on your targets.
