Purpose of Role
To complete all the company's bookkeeping and financial accounting requirements.
To produce management information as required by RM, directors and divisional managers.
To ensure all employees are paid on time and correctly each month.
To prepare all statutory reports linked to these activities.
Key Tasks
Financial Accounting
1. To maintain the nominal, purchase and sales ledgers including all journals, accruals and prepayments using the Sage accounting package.
2. To maintain an accurate record of payment milestones for each project and ensure prompt invoicing, unless otherwise informed.
3. To maximise the company's cashflow position and proactively manage credit control activities.
4. To manage banking arrangements and the petty cash imprest system and undertake monthly reconciliations.
5. To update the cash flow spreadsheet daily and carry out forward forecasting for the next three months, identifying the value of surplus funds for treasury deposit.
6. To reconcile intercompany accounts and ensure approvals have been obtained.
7. To maintain the fixed asset register and calculate depreciation values.
8. To control the issue of purchase orders, ensuring they are properly authorised and raise cheques accordingly.
9. To pay employee expenses, maintain employee expense records on a monthly basis and produce annual P11D information.
10. To maintain accurate VAT records and prepare quarterly returns.
11. To prepare working papers for the annual external audit as required.
