Process Engineer – Switzerland Based, French Speaking

Our client is one of the fastest growing operating units of the world's leading food, beverage, nutrition and wellness company. They are a strategic business unit in its own right, with overall responsibility for its research and development, the supply of its raw materials as well as the production. For their new Production Centre in Avenches in Switzerland, they are looking for a French Speaking Process Engineer. The idea is to start in their Production Centre in Orbe before the opening of Avenches in 2008.
The overall objective of the role is to industrialise new, modified process equipment and to continuously improve the roasting, coffee transport, grinding and conditioning process as well as manage product related improvement projects with focus on safety, quality, operational performance and costs while ensuring full compliance with local legislation within the entire industrial set-up of the company itself.
Main Responsibilities:
- Co-ordination of process industrialization/improvement projects within the group
- Assure legal compliance of process equipment
- Drive continuous improvement on the entire process including capacity utilization analysis (CDM, Production Master plan implementation.
- Coaching and Training of Operators/Mechanics on process related subjects.
- Support production, quality, and engineering in operational trouble shooting
- Define new process specifications.
- Drive and support Product related projects
Education and experience required:
- Degree in mechanical/process engineering
- Relevant experience in Project Management and continuous improvement on roasting process
- Knowledge in Coffee Roasting process, Green coffee, Roasted bean handling/degassing process would be a plus.
- Additional: Grinding process, Powder technology
- Experience with Process Safety / Behaviour based Safety
