They are now looking for a Credit controller.
Duties and Responsibilities
Sales
1. Creating sales invoices
2. Inputting sales ledger invoices
3. Maintenance of the sales ledger including contras
4. Producing monthly statements
Credit control
1. Chasing up debtors and bringing cash into the company
2. Liaising with suppliers and corporate clients re credit control
3. Providing weekly debtor updates to account managers and the Head of Finance re outstanding corporate debtors
4. Providing ad hoc information to lifestyle managers about member issues
Members, Direct Debits and BACs payments
1. Monthly recurring invoicing to include members who pay by DD, CC and SO
2. Take member credit card payments as and when
3. Action taken on the weekly inactive member listing provided by IT
4. Liaise with Lifestyle Managers re member invoicing
5. Following up inactive members
Banking and reconciliation
1. Prepare daily bank reconciliations for three bank accounts (current, client and one other small account)
2. Perform Streamline reconciliations (of credit card payments taken)
3. Prepare daily banking remittance sheet, post remittances to Sage and go to the bank with back up tapes and bankings
4. Take out petty cash during bank runs, as and when required
5. Make/authorise bankings on our on-line banking system
As a candidate should be/have
- numerate, methodical and be capable of paying close attention to detail and a team player.
- Knowledge of Sage Line 50 would be a distinct advantage as would previous experience of creating Direct debits and making BACs payments.
- Experience of credit control is essential.
- A good telephone manner as is the ability to explain finance matters to non finance co-workers.
