Our client is an independent programme and system assurance company with 27 years' experience of delivering consulting and technology services into Space, Defence and Government. They currently seek a Finance Assistant / Accounts Administrator to join their team based in Fareham.
Our client is seeking someone with accounts experience, rather than a general administrator. This is a responsible position and requires numerical and interpersonal skills.
Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, this key role will support the Consulting operation to ensure that timely and accurate financial information is made available to meet the needs of the business. Your key duties will be in:
* Expenses - Gathering information in relation to local expense-related matters and ensuring these are submitted to Group Finance in a timely manner. Ensuring those expenses that can be charged as disbursements to clients are identified and invoiced.
* Bought Ledger - responsible for ensuring the accurate maintenance of the local bought ledger and providing this as required to Group Finance.
* Sub-Contractor Costs - working closely with the Commercial team to ensure the timely receipt, recognition and payment of costs associated with sub-contracted services.
* Invoicing – Supporting and working closely with the Finance Administrator with accurate and timely completion of all local invoices and their presentation on appropriate forms for customers for payment.
* Credit Control - Supporting the Finance Administrator and Group Finance with managing the timely payment of all outstanding debts.
* Record Keeping - maintaining and updating accurate records in relation to the financial data.
* Supporting the Senior Management Accountant in gathering, reconciling and analysing key financial data as required.
* Head Office Liaison - liaising closely with members of Group Finance team and carrying out ad-hoc tasks as required by Group Finance.
* In addition to the above, the Finance Assistant will provide ad-hoc general support to other members of the office team and assist in general office duties as required.
To fulfil this requirement, you will be a good team player with excellent communication skills and a sound awareness of accounting skills. You will have a passion for accuracy and organisation, and will be proactive and able to prioritise. Additionally, you will be proficient in Excel and Word to an intermediate level, whilst knowledge of SUN accounts would be useful but not essential.
The successful candidate will receive a salary of £15,000-£19,000 plus flexible benefits. Hours are 8.30am-5 pm. Monday to Friday. You will also benefit from air conditioned offices and free parking. To apply, please simply send your CV via the button shown.
