Are you an autonomous self-starter, with five years' plus experience in a senior finance role? Do you have experience in staff management, and the ability to lead, motivate and develop our team?
As Senior Management Accountant, reporting to the Controller, you will ensure that financial and commercial decisions are based on sound information and so deliver budgeted sales, profit and operating cash flow. Our clients are engaged in consultancy in the Defence and Government markets.
Tasks:
* In conjunction with the Director, prepare annual budget including revenue, profit, manpower, cash, billing and WIP.
* Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts, for the Director.
* Lead the monthly revenue recognition process gaining appropriate
approval for profit write on/off.
* Prepare monthly performance reports identifying key trends.
* Identify and gain approval for recommendations to improve divisional
performance.
* Support to improve project performance. Ensure accurate and clear
analysis of project costs is produced and communicated to the Director and Financial Controller.
* Provide regular and ad-hoc information to directors at local and national level.
* Line management of local Finance team.
* In conjunction with the Head Office Finance Manager, ensure Group Financial processes are adhered to re sales and bought ledger functions.
In addition, you will be responsible for the following duties:
* Ensure regular and timely billing of contracts to customers and prompt
collection of monies due.
* Liaison with management to provide rolling forecasts of cash performance on a weekly basis.
* Assist in the approval and control of divisional expenditure.
* Identify needs, design and deliver financial training to divisional
staff.
* Assist in the production of financial and commercial
proposals and be part of the approval process.
* In conjunction with the Head of Commercial, ensure all bids are financially and commercially sound.
* Compare and report on actual project performance with project plans and
divisional budgets.
* Implement improvements to existing systems used within the division and contribute to group initiatives where appropriate.
